And rather you're working on issues and supporting families with such natural catastrophes such as Hurricane Katrina or standing with members of City Council out in Eastwick addressing the issue around Hurricane Sandy, but even on a day-to-day basis, my office, through constituent services, call upon the American Red Cross to help families who are looking for food, shelter, and clothing as a result of them being in situations where their homes may result in a fire.

And so I want to thank all my colleagues for joining me today. And the proclamation reads:

Whereas, the American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization led by dedicated volunteers that provides relief to victims of disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies; and

Whereas, compassion, courage, character, and civic duty are inherent in the Red Cross mission to prevent and relieve human suffering, and the City of Philadelphia shares these grand ideals; and
